Before franchising, my life consisted of a whirlwind of meetings, relentless travelling and early mornings. I was proud to be an Area Director for a leading global financial institution.
I thought I was thriving on the excitement and perpetual challenges. However, it became clear that I had forgotten about my other life! One with my husband, dogs, and friends. The one of relaxation and happiness.
Ultimately, I was burning out and, when my company decided to restructure, I grabbed early retirement.
Then came the days I longed for; when I could wake up with a long yawn and a stretch, the ones without stress and worry.
Or so I thought! Six months later, after ‘living the life’, my routine turned into the groundhog of coffee mornings, gym and walking my Akitas. Idyllic in some ways, but something was missing.
Owning a Trophy franchise has brought me the right balance of happiness, freedom, and self-worth which I had craved.
That is not to say there’s been no hard work or challenges, but I’m backed by a dedicated and ethical brand. I can focus on my strengths whilst benefiting from a supported pathway to the dream of the perfect work life balance.
During the past two years Trophy have picked up the gauntlet, pivoted the business and guided the franchisees through these uncertain times, whilst allowing me to focus on the core, and more enjoyable, elements of my business.
Whilst continuing my franchise journey, I applied and was selected to join the Trophy Franchise Council which is an important role as the voice of the network, ensuring views are heard within Trophy Head Office. The Council and Trophy Board meet regularly, to debate ideas, concerns, new concepts and we work together as one team to ensure our brand remains unique and relevant for our consumers.
Trophy’s support gives me the peace of mind that I can focus on my business, developing it as I choose, knowing that if I need it, their helping hand is always there. At the end of the day, my happiness is the greatest sign of success.
